about

Binary Emotion
Most things are stored on computer hard drives these days and a simple crash could erase all our photos, music, videos, documents etc. Before the computer-age photos and letters where on paper, music on vinyl (or tape) and if stored correctly would be there forever. The question is what will we leave behind for future generations (apart from WEEE).
This song is also about the increasingly over-simplified way that communication has developed as we rely more heavily on technology to speak to each other. It’s about mankind’s’ descent into a code-like correspondence…..how far will it go?

lyrics

I found a box today
Long time hidden away
Full of old photographs, love letters from the past
I lost it all today
One crash took it all away
Everything I hadn’t saved
Unseen by the futures’ eye
Pretty soon – ain’t gonna be no words
Just 10101110
Binary Emotion – it’s finally in motion
You might think I’m a little old fashioned
But I can see the way it goes
Deleting from our memory
Erasing from our thoughts
It’s the real life – I am deleting?!
